Tandem paragliding flight over the green hills of Kamshet near Pune

"How much does paragliding in Kamshet cost?" is the question we answer most often on WhatsApp, and the honest answer is: less than most people expect, with fewer add-ons than they fear. This guide lays out our 2026 tandem prices, exactly what they include, the one shared cost that sits outside the package, and a realistic all-in budget for a day trip from Pune, Lonavala or Mumbai.

Everything below is our actual published pricing at Sunrise Paragliding Kamshet, not an estimate. If anything changes seasonally, the packages page is always the final word.

Kamshet paragliding price list 2026

Let's start with the numbers most people search for. At Sunrise Paragliding Kamshet we fly three tandem packages, and the price depends on the type of flight and whether you come on a weekday or a weekend. All prices below are per person and include the pilot, equipment, briefing and your GoPro media.

PackageWeekdayWeekendAirtimeWho flies the glider
Joy Tandem₹2,999₹3,5008–10 minPilot controls throughout
Instructional Tandem₹3,950₹3,99910–15 minYou steer under pilot guidance
Acro Tandem₹4,500₹4,50010–15 minPilot controls (spirals, wing-overs, dives)

The Joy Tandem is the flight most first-timers choose: you sit back, the pilot handles everything, and you enjoy the view over Pawna Lake and the Sahyadri ridges. The Instructional Tandem adds a few extra minutes and lets you hold the brake toggles and turn the wing yourself. The Acro Tandem is for people who want their stomach to drop. You can compare all three in detail on our packages page.

What is included in the price

A common worry with adventure sports in India is that the headline price is just the beginning. In Kamshet, the package price at Sunrise covers almost everything you need on the day:

  • Certified tandem pilot — our pilots hold APPI, BHPA or PAI licences; lead pilot Ganesh Shinde is APPI Pro Tandem certified.
  • Helmet and tandem harness — fitted and checked before every flight.
  • Pre-flight safety briefing — how to run on take-off, how to sit, how to land.
  • GoPro photos and videos — free, transferred to your phone after landing. No memory card required.

Why the free photos and videos matter

It is common in the adventure industry to quote a low flight price and then charge separately for footage, often several hundred rupees for photos and more for video. We include both because, honestly, nobody wants to do a tandem flight and come home without proof. When comparing Kamshet paragliding costs, always ask whether media is included, because it can quietly change the real price by a noticeable margin.

The only extra: the shared jeep to take-off

The one cost outside the package is the jeep ride from our meeting point at Kamshet junction to the take-off hill. Depending on the day's wind we fly from Tower Hill or Shelar Hill, and both need a short off-road drive that normal cars cannot manage. The jeep charge is ₹600 one-way per jeep, and it is split among the passengers in that jeep, not charged per person.

People in the jeepJeep cost per person
2₹300
3₹200
4₹150
6₹100

So a group of four friends doing the Joy Tandem on a weekday pays ₹2,999 + ₹150 = ₹3,149 each, all-inclusive. Solo travellers are usually clubbed with other flyers in the same slot, so you rarely end up paying the full ₹600 alone. After landing on the flat farmland below the hill, the return to the meeting point is arranged by our team.

Deposit, payment and group discounts

Booking works in two parts. You pay a ₹500 per person deposit online via UPI at least one day ahead through our booking page. This locks your slot and lets us plan pilots and jeeps for the day. The balance is paid in cash or UPI at the meeting point near Hotel Rangoli Pure Veg on the old Mumbai–Pune highway when you report. Our team calls you the evening before with your exact reporting time, which is around 7:00 am in winter and around 2:30 pm in summer.

Group discounts

If you are coming as a group of four or more — a college gang from Pune, an office team from Hinjewadi, or a family from Mumbai — message us on WhatsApp at +91 76664 53090 with your headcount and date. We can often offer a small per-person discount, and a bigger group also brings the jeep cost per head down naturally.

Weekday vs weekend savings

The Joy Tandem is ₹501 cheaper on a weekday. For a group of four that is over ₹2,000 saved, plus quieter hills and less waiting between flights. If your dates are flexible, a Friday or Monday is the sweet spot. Lonavala hotels are also noticeably cheaper midweek if you plan to stay over.

Sample budget: a Pune day trip to Kamshet

Kamshet is 49 km from Pune, roughly 1 to 1.5 hours by road, so most people from Pune treat paragliding as a half-day outing. Here is a realistic budget for two people driving from Pune on a weekday and flying the Joy Tandem. Fuel and food are estimates; the flight and jeep figures are our actual prices.

ItemCost for 2 peopleNotes
Joy Tandem, weekday₹5,998₹2,999 × 2
Shared jeep to take-off₹300₹600 jeep split by 2 (less if clubbed with others)
Fuel, Pune–Kamshet return (~100 km)≈ ₹700–900Car; a bike is far cheaper
Breakfast/lunch at Kamshet or Lonavala≈ ₹400–600Local dhabas and misal joints
Approximate total≈ ₹7,400–7,800About ₹3,700–3,900 per person

By train instead of car

Pune–Lonavala local trains stop at Kamshet station, which is just 2 km from our meeting point. A return local ticket is a fraction of car fuel, and an auto from the station costs very little. For students and solo travellers this is the cheapest way to fly: on a weekday you can realistically do the whole trip for under ₹3,500 per person including the flight.

From Mumbai

Mumbai is about 102 km away, roughly 2.5 to 3 hours via the expressway. Add expressway toll and fuel to the table above. Many Mumbai visitors pair paragliding with a night in Lonavala (16–19 km from Kamshet), which spreads the travel out and lets you take the early winter slot without a 4 am start.

How to avoid hidden charges when comparing operators

There are many operators around Kamshet, and prices that look similar on a poster can end up quite different at the landing field. Before you pay anyone a deposit, ask these questions:

  1. Are photos and videos included, or extra? Ask for both, and ask how they are delivered.
  2. How is the jeep charged? Per jeep (shared) or per person? A per-person jeep fee on a large group adds up quickly.
  3. Is the pilot certified? Ask which body — APPI, BHPA, PAI — and whether they have tandem-specific certification.
  4. What is the actual airtime? A cheaper flight that lasts 3–4 minutes is not really cheaper.
  5. What happens if the weather turns? Get the refund or reschedule policy in writing (a WhatsApp message is fine).
  6. Is the weekend rate different? Some quotes are weekday-only and change when you arrive on a Sunday.

At Sunrise the answers are simple: media is free, the jeep is ₹600 per jeep shared, all pilots are licensed, Joy Tandem airtime is 8–10 minutes, and weekend pricing is shown openly on the packages page.

Refunds, cancellations and rescheduling

Paragliding is entirely weather-dependent. We do not fly in rain, strong wind or poor visibility, and the season itself runs October to May (we close June to September for the monsoon). Because of this, our policy is designed so that you never lose money to the weather:

  • Weather cancellation by us: reschedule to any available date, or take a full refund of your deposit.
  • Cancellation by you, 24 hours or more before your slot: full refund of the ₹500 deposit.
  • Late cancellation or no-show: the deposit covers the pilot and jeep we held for you; please tell us as early as you can.

If your slot is marginal — say, gusty afternoon wind in March — our team will usually call and suggest moving you to an earlier or later slot rather than cancelling outright. Plan for about two hours on site in total, covering the briefing, jeep ride, flight and return, so build a little slack into your day.

Is paragliding in Kamshet worth the price?

For roughly the cost of a good dinner for two in Pune or Mumbai, you get to run off a Sahyadri hillside with a licensed pilot, float 800 to 1,500 feet above farmland with Pawna Lake and the forts of Lohagad and Tikona on the horizon, and take home the footage. There is no overnight stay, no long-haul travel and no equipment to buy or rent.

If you want the best value, pick a weekday Joy Tandem, come with three friends to share the jeep, and take the train from Pune. If you want the best experience, choose the Instructional or Acro Tandem and come on a clear winter morning between November and February. Either way, you can lock your slot with a ₹500 deposit on our booking page and pay the rest when you arrive.
