Quick answer

Kamshet is the paragliding site for Lonavala — just 19 km and about 30 minutes away. Tandem flights with a certified pilot cost ₹2,999–₹4,500, include free GoPro photos, and fly October to May over Pawna Lake and the Sahyadri hills.

Why Lonavala visitors fly at Kamshet

Lonavala's own hills are steep and wooded, which makes them great for trekking but unsuitable for paragliding launches. Kamshet, 16 km east, has rounded grassy hills that face the wind coming up the Pawna valley. That combination of gentle slopes and reliable wind is why Kamshet became India's paragliding capital, and why every serious operator around Lonavala flies from here.

Our take-off sites are Tower Hill, ideal for first-timers, and Shelar Hill, which gives higher launches and longer flights when conditions allow.

Lonavala to Kamshet: how to reach

  • By train: Kamshet is two stops from Lonavala on the Pune–Lonavala local line. From Kamshet station take an auto to our meeting point near Rangoli Hotel.
  • From Mumbai or Pune: If you are coming via the Expressway, exit at Lonavala and continue on the old highway toward Kamshet, or take the Talegaon exit from the Pune side.
